OK...ENOUGH OF THIS. LET'S TALK FOOD!
Get in a cab and head to ELLIS ISLAND. Can't afford the fare to New York. No problem. Ellis Island is just a few blocks off the strip. Hint. Everything is so big in Vegas that it looks to be only a few blocks. Trust me. Take a cab. Yes Ellis Island is proud to be the best slot club, best karoke, best micro brewery but the seven dollar steak is a great deal. Free Tip. It's not on the menu so you've got to ask for it. So if steak is your hot button and you don't mind paying more than the seven bucks at Ellis Island you can choose from these Never Forget Las Vegas steak eateries. Top of the World at the Stratosphere. Tip. Ride the roller-coaster before you eat. Craftsteak at the MGM, Luxor Steakhouse, Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio, BOA steakhouse at Caesars, and the steakhouse at Circus Circus. To get an interesting perspective about Circus Circus watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Or read the book by Hunter S. Thompson. More Las Vegas good stuff here.
Next on my list is the shrimp cocktail at the GOLDEN GATE in old Vegas. Take the deuce to downtown. Tip. It's the last stop so you don't have to ask "are we there yet". Just sit back and enjoy seeing the many wedding chapels, Dino's bar and grill, and the court house where you can get your wedding license. Oh and if you want to stop to get your license the driver will tell you when you get to that stop. As you are walking up the Fremont Experience, the Golden Gate is the last casino on the left before you get to the Plaza. It is also the casino where Helen Hunt worked in the movie Pay it Forward. Her picture is on the wall. The Golden Gate has a killer deli and a pretty good breakfast. Both priced right. Tip. If you like sports memorabilia, across the street is the Las Vegas Club. Tip. You have to go through the casino to the back to see the pictures of Babe Ruth and others.
We gotta talk buffet when we talk food. The Rio Carnival Buffet is not $4.95 but it has been voted best by the locals. That should tell you something. The Sahara has a reasonably priced buffet, Treasure Island Dishes Buffet is awesome, especially if you go for the rolling chili cart. Some more to check out. The Buffet at the Bellagio and the Wynn, Cravings at the Mirage, Flavors at Harrahs, Le Village Market..guess where...yep. Paris, The Spice Market at Planet Hollywood, and if you're into seafood you must hit Rio's Village Seafood Buffet. Notice Rio's is mentioned twice. Remember the tip in the shuttle link to get to Rio's.
How about burgers or Denny's. If your in Vegas then get a Never Forget Burger. Where? Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay, Fix at Bellagio, ESPN Zone at New York, New York. And the worlds busiest Denny's is right next to Casino Royale.
Did someone say breakfast? The Sidewalk cafe at Bally's. Tip. 4 am is the time to go. (throw your watch away. It's Vegas baby.) The Coffee Shop at Binions. It used to be where the World Series of Poker was held. I saw Moneymaker make his money there. And Benny Binion had all his guns on the walls. Now to see that ya gotta Google old Binions. Still the Coffee shop is good. The Sourdough Cafe' at Arizona Charlie's has a $2.99 breakfast all day, any casino that ends with the name Station, the Hardrock has a 6 buck special, and in the early hours of the morning you will find many breakfast specials throughout Las Vegas.
